Orchard Heights Raised Clownfish
The Ocellaris, also known as the False Percula Clownfish, stands as the most favored clownfish variety among those who keep marine aquariums. It's referred to as the False Percula due to its genetic closeness and similarity to the Percula Clownfish (A. percula).
These iconic fish boast a vibrant orange hue with white stripes and delicate black borders. Ocellaris were among the first species of marine aquarium fish to be successfully bred in captivity. In their natural habitat, A. ocellaris can be found across the Indo-Pacific area, including Australia, the East Indies, Melanesia, the Philippines, and the Ryukyu Islands.
These clownfish are among the gentlest in their family and generally get along with other clownfish in their tank. They are relatively easy to care for in aquariums, are adaptable, and will eat a broad selection of aquarium foods we feed and raise them on almost exclusively Reef Nutrition TDO and frozen foods. Female Ocellaris are usually the larger of the two in a pair. Like some other species of marine fish, clownfish exhibit protandrous hermaphroditism, a condition where they can transition from male to female.
